Dr Marion Roberts, clinical psychologist and University academic specialising in the area of eating disorders on the management of eating disorders in primary care. She will focus on the following topics:

- Approaches to starting the conversation with a patient you have concerns about, minimising discomfort and increasing patient engagement.
- Awareness of the new diagnostic criteria for these disorders.
- What to do once there has been disclosure of disordered eating.
- How do we approach the patient who is reluctant to engage with services.
- Medical risks associated with eating disorders.
- When should we be considering referral, or inpatient care for a patient.
- Key principles of treatments and psychological interventions.

Dr Marion Roberts
Psychologist
Marion is a Clinical Psychologist, Director of Nurture Psychology and Senior Lecturer in primary mental health at the University of Auckland. She began specialising in eating disorders during her doctoral training at the Maudsley Hospital, King's College London and has remained in the field as both a researcher and clinician over the past decade.
She has a particular focus on the clinical applications of neurocognitive findings in eating disorders, and ongoing development/delivery of evidence-based treatment for eating disorders.
