Ivermectin has been proposed as an effective treatment for Covid 19. A Tools for Practice looked at the best evidence in terms of important outcomes and found no benefit in the two best RCTs.1
There have been a number of other studies looking at surrogate outcomes such as viral load. Most of those are in developing countries and may improve health by clearing the GI worm load.
The Tools for Practice group contributed to a podcast pointing out that Ivermectin appears to be the rallying point for anti-vax doctors.2 It is also an interesting discussion on the quality of the evidence. The North American manufacturer Merck does not support its use which is an important fact.
