Management of Xerosis and related dry skin conditions

Very dry skin, or xerosis, can significantly impact a patient's quality of life. Aaron Secrest provides a practical framework for diagnosing and managing diverse very dry skin conditions frequently encountered in general practice.

The session will cover:

  • Understanding the underlying causes of dry skin: From age-related changes (senile xerosis) and hormonal fluctuations (menopausal dry skin) to systemic conditions like diabetes and reactions to treatments such as retinoids and oncology therapies.
  • Effective management strategies: Learn evidence-based approaches to managing these conditions, including the appropriate use of emollients and adjunctive dermo-cosmetics, with a focus on the benefits of ceramides.
  • Optimizing patient adherence: Aaron will share practical tips for improving patient compliance with treatment plans, leading to better clinical outcomes and improved skin health.
  • Real-world application: Case studies will illustrate the application of these strategies in a clinical setting.

As always, we will answer as many questions as possible during this session.
