Dr Chris Boberg is one of New Zealand’s leading skin cancer experts with extensive experience in key roles such as the co-chair of the Melanoma Network of New Zealand (Melnet http://www.melnet.org.nz ), RNZCGP delegate for NZ Skin Cancer Strategic Planning Group and conference convenor for the International NZ Melanoma Summits.

He is a fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practice (FRNZCGP) and President of the New Zealand Skin Cancer Doctors Society https://www.nzscd.org.nz

Chris is a founder and director of SkinCheck, Northcote, Auckland holding qualifications in Advanced Dermoscopy from Graz University in Austria.

He has also attained professional diplomas in Advanced Skin Cancer Surgery, Dermoscopy and Management of skin cancers from University of Queensland. Chris has enjoyed and participated in many advanced courses and masterclasses in both skin cancer surgery and dermoscopy and is highly experienced in complex flaps.

Chris is an Affiliated Provider for Southern Cross – and he is highly passionate in finding melanomas at the very early survivable non-invasive stage with the aid of digital dermoscopy – “the stethoscope of the skin”.

Chris has a great sense of humour and positive outlook. He is passionate about teaching and mentoring to ensure that every doctor in New Zealand has the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of dermoscopy via his role in the NZ Skin Cancer Symposiums teaching team.
