Fiona trained at Otago Medical School and did her specialist training in Auckland. She completed a two year fellowship in Melbourne to qualify for complex laparoscopic surgery (AGES accreditation). Fiona introduced advanced laparoscopic surgery to North Shore Hospital and leads the Endometriosis Service. In Melbourne her training had a strong focus on minimally invasive surgery for heavy menstrual bleeding.
She is accredited to performed enclosed bag morcellation of fibroids.
