Acute and episodic vestibular syndromes

Acute and episodic vestibular syndromes

Session Date:

Learn an evidence based algorithmic approach to assessing dizziness and apply it to acute and episodic vestibular syndromes (AVS and EVS).

While not all dizziness cases can be conclusively diagnosed, especially without specialized equipment, having a framework makes the symptom less daunting to assess and avoids common diagnostic reasoning pitfalls.

Typical examples of AVS are vestibular neuritis and stroke; while examples of EVS are BPPV, vestibular migraine, and Meniere's disease.

Within the session we will cover BPPV assessment.
