Moral pain in general practice and how compassion can help
Speaker
Session Date:
There are many events in general practice that can trigger moral pain, which is our natural response to distressing events. Attempts to control this pain can result in moral injury where we can get stuck in distress, shame and guilt.
We can learn to navigate these challenging situations with example situations and an awareness of the triggers and symptoms. Mindfulness and compassionate approaches can help us transform shame and isolation and resource us to continue to care for others and ourselves.
