In this breakfast session, Dr Lisa Connelly will be exploring the importance of photoprotection and the clinical impact of long UVA.

Lisa will cover how long UVA contributes to long-term skin damage, skin cancer and photoaging through genetic modulation. She will also discuss how patients can protect and prevent long-term damage from long UVA.

Bio

Dr Lisa Connelly is a specialist Dermatologist with over 20 years of experience. She specializes in treating all skin, hair, and nail conditions, with expertise in Pediatric Dermatology. Dr Connelly is one of the few Pediatric Dermatologists in New Zealand and the only one practicing in New Plymouth.

Dr Connelly earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida International University in Miami, Florida. She then received her Medical Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. Her Dermatology Residency was completed at the University of Minnesota, followed by a Pediatric Dermatology Fellowship at Rady Children's Hospital/University of San Diego. She gained vocational registration and certification as a Specialist Dermatologist in New Zealand.

Dr Connelly also maintains memberships in several prominent dermatological societies, including the New Zealand Dermatological Society Inc., the American Academy of Dermatology, the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, the Society for Pediatric Dermatology, and the International Peeling Society. Dr Connelly is also a member of the DermNetNZ board of trustee since 2024
