Untangling puberty: are we there yet and what do I do?

The age of onset of puberty is creeping earlier and is directly correlated with the obesity epidemic. For those children (usually girls) with very early onset (precocious) puberty there is effective specialist depot treatment to block puberty.

A case-based approach will be used to explore the clinical presentations of puberty and other misleading presentations. Initial screening tests to aid diagnosis will be presented as well as deciding who and when to refer to paediatric endocrinologists.
