Bariatric Surgery – supporting the patient journey

Video

Resources:

The session will focus on supporting the bariatric surgical patient at all stages of their journey - from navigating referral criteria and equitable access in public vs private, through to surgery selection and post-operative care.

The surgeon and dietitian-led presentations will cover the key areas of patient care before and after surgery, and practical ways to navigate common issues and complex situations that bariatric patients may present with to primary care; nutritional deficiencies, bowel issues, hypoglycaemia, pregnancy, disordered eating, alcohol misuse and more.

As always, we will answer as many questions as possible during this session.
