The PrEP Clinical Update will be presented by Dr Vincent Cornelisse (specialist in sexual health medicine, Prahan Market Clinic, Melbourne) and Dr Massimo Giola (specialist in infectious diseases and sexual health, Bay of Plenty DHB). They will present on the science of PrEP and how to prescribe PrEP in New Zealand.

Massimo Giola
Dr Massimo Giola obtained his medical degree in 1991 at the University of Pavia (Italy) and specialised in Infectious Diseases in 1996 (Italy). He moved to NZ in 2009, was accepted for the FRACP in 2012, and completed the specialty training in Sexual Health Medicine in Auckland in 2015.
He lives in Tauranga, working for BOPDHB and Lakes DHB as Infectious Disease and Sexual Health Physician, being the Clinical Lead of the Sexual Health Services for both DHBs. He is the NZ Representative in the Australasian Chapter of Sexual Health medicine since May 2018.
