Geraldine Poynter

Specialist General Practitioner

Geraldine is a specialist General Practitioner at Greenstone Family Clinic in Manurewa, South Auckland. She is a graduate of Auckland Medical School and completed her GP training with the Royal College of GPs UK whilst based in North Yorkshire and subsequently her Fellowship with the RNZCGPs.  

She has a specialist interest in Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (FACT) having completed several trainings including ACT for Beginners (Russ Harris), ACT in Practice (Steven Hayes), Healing Trauma with ACT (Robyn Walser), Focused ACT for Brief Interventions (Kirk Strosahl and Patty Robinson) and DNA-V for Young People (Louise Hayes and Joseph Ciarrochi).  

Geraldine has the privilege of being able to provide both clinical general practice care as well as funded FACT for the patients at Greenstone Family Clinic. She is passionate about educating primary health care providers in FACT skills through seminars and presentations.
