Leanne is one of the first pharmacist prescribers in Aotearoa. Her career has however intentionally spanned different environments of the health sector, and she is a founder of The Māori Pharmacists Association. She works in general practices, predominantly Māori of lower socioeconomic demography. Her expertise focuses on complex chronic care, with addressing unmet need and optimal prescribing. One of Leanne’s Waitangi 2575 Health Claims seeks a pro-equity approach from the Crown to address medicines inequity for Māori.
