Tui Gallagher

Social Worker

Ko Māmari te waka, ko te Aupouri te iwi.

My name is Tui Gallagher, and I have lived in Mount Albert for 30 years.

I am a wife, mama, karani māma, aunty, and sister.

I am currently  Kaiwhatu, co-lead of Te Whare Hīnātore and registered Social worker in a kaupapa Māori transitional housing model wrapped in the korowai of the Auckland City Mission-Te Tāpui Atawhai.

Outside of work and my whanau I am kaiwhakahaere of Te Runanga o Mount Albert Grammar, Board of Trustees Member of Mount Albert Grammar, co-chair o Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Maungarongo, and National Secretary and official for NZ Professional Boxing Association.

I want my whanau, both by toto and service to be good global citizens, leading the conversations on diversity and tolerance, practising in everyday life manākitanga, aroha, tika and pono,  hauora and  rangatiratanga and exercising their right to mana motuhake.
